Our Projects.
We are always working on something. We ask that you please be patient as we gather information to share with you. Read below for more information on the Ed Lehman Wildlife Center, Higher Education Scholarship, Youth Day at the Range and a Camp Scholarship.
Ed Lehman Wildlife Center
The Ed Lehman Wildlife Center is located at the Bonner County Fairgrounds. It was built by volunteers for the County to enjoy. The Bonner County Sportsmen maintain the building. It is open during Fair time and by appointment. Inside you will find many different wildlife mounts, from squirrels to elk to eagles. During the Fair we maintain a pond with local trout for the kids to enjoy. We have different games to help you identify animal by their tracks and different fish. Come down and "pet" the pelts and feel the different animal fur. Come up close to a wolf mount. We hope to see you at the Fair as we dedicate our newest member, a grizzly bear.

Youth Day
at the Range
"Daughter's and Son's Day at the Range" began in 2012 with one day of shooting basics. This activity takes place in June, normally on Father's Day Weekend. We have received great response so have gone to two days of fun!
The Bonner County Sportsmen are taking this opportunity to allow you the chance to introduce your kids to a fun filled time to learn more about gun safety and target shooting. .22 caliber rifles, ammunition, ear and eye protection and snacks are provided.
We meet at the Outdoor Range at 113 Turtle Rock Rd just off Baldy Mountain Rd, check in, have a safety talk, then shoot at different targets practicing what we learned on how to make an accurate shot. All of this is for free! Pre-registration is required. Sign up early as spots are limited. The event will be held, rain or shine.
Thank you to the Sandpoint Park & Rec Department, NRA, IDF&G, NRA Women on Target, National Shooting Sports Federation, area volunteers and other local businesses that make this possible.
Pre-registration is required. On-line registration is at the Sandpoint Park & Rec page here. Click on Program Registration on the left side, then choose Youth Sports. The sign up will be available about two months ahead of time. If you don't find it listed, keep checking back.

Summer Camp
Scholarship
Who wants to go to Summer Camp?
The Bonner County Sportsmen are offering a scholarship sponsoring a youth between the ages of 10 and 12 years as a participant this summer at a Youth Conservation Camp presented by the Idaho Conservation Officers Association and the Idaho Department of Fish & Game. The camp will be held every August at Trinity Pines Camp in Cascade Idaho.
This is a great opportunity for a young boy or girl who wants to experience a fun week learning outdoor skills and completing Hunters Education. The camp offers a wide variety of activities, the only thing required of the participant is to bring your sleeping bag, clothes and smiles. All food, travel and fun is covered by the scholarship. The camp is hosted by IDF&G Conservation officers who chaperone the youths throughout the week, helping them learn or experience the outdoors in a way that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to do so. It's great fun, lots of activities, campfires and swimming too! Transportation is provided by IDF&G.
The winner will be expected to attend the October meeting of the BCSA to share their experience with the club and tell us about the activities they took part in. Participants from previous years had a great time and couldn't say enough about the fun and good food!
If you or your child is interested in this scholarship, please have the child hand write a letter to the Bonner County Sportsmen's Foundation telling us why they want to attend. They need to include their age, address and a phone number. Letters must be postmarked by May 20th of the current year. The recipient will be selected and notified by May 30th. The dates may be extended if no applications are received.
